- Compare all possible matches by agency and identity details. Do not select a result only because the names look alike.

- Save the retrieval time and then verify the event with Boundary County Jail or IDOC, depending on the record owner.

IDOC states that an unacknowledged phone notification repeats every two hours for 48 hours. The PIN acknowledges the call. It is not the person's IDOC number, jail booking number, or court case number. Keep contact details current, since an old phone number or email address can defeat the purpose of registration.
Confirm Boundary VINELink Release Alerts
For a Boundary County booking, call the jail at 208-267-3151 and request the written release transaction through the Sheriff or county portal. Ask whether custody ended by community release or transfer. A county record should establish the booking, release time, authority or type, and receiving agency when recorded.

IDOC VINE Status in Boundary

After any alert, call the supplying agency to learn whether the event was release, transfer, or another custody change.
Boundary Registry Is Not VINE
The Idaho Central Sex Offender Registry is a separate system for people who must register. It may show a current photo and registry location, and it offers person-specific email tracking for movement into or out of Idaho. Neither function is a general custody-release alert.
A registry entry does not state the Boundary County Jail release time. ISP also warns that name and descriptive matching are not conclusive; fingerprint comparison is positive identification. Use VINE for agency-fed custody alerts and the registry only for its limited statutory population and purpose.
Interpret Boundary VINELink Changes
An alert describes a reported change, not the whole custody path. A transfer can trigger movement without placing the person in the community. A release from Boundary County Jail can also lead directly to IDOC, another jail, a federal authority, or immigration custody. Ask the reporting agency what the event means and whether it can identify the next custodian.
When IDOC is the source, distinguish community placement from discharge. A person on parole or felony probation may live in the community while IDOC jurisdiction continues.
